Driving up to Amamoor in the rain was a bit depressing. But then things changed a warm welcome a quick look around and we were off. Up into the Cobb and Co wagon for a leisurely clip clop to the station. A wee market serving free sausage sandwiches. All good then we joined the Mary River rattler for a trip to Gympie. Train crew invited us into the dinning car for a nice drink. Lunch at the pub with another enjoyable trip back to Amamoor.

Freshen up before joining fellow guest around the BBQ fire. Our host cooked up a storm and we then dined on the veranda. Big breakfast completed a most enjoyable and relaxing say.
Highly recommend, value for money.

Amamoor lodge is a great place to relax at. We stayed 2 nights over new years. John and Cynthia are the nicest people you would ever wish to meet. They make you feel very comfortable and are very imformative on the lodge and the surrounds and wildlife. The place is emmaculatley looked after. Everything is in its right place. One of the best B&B's you cold imagine!! Don't miss it.

Driving up the driveway of Amamoor Lodge provides you with a hint of what to expect, being greeted by the owners, John & Cynthia (& Nipper-the dog) as they immediately make you feel extremely welcome.
We always stay in the main homestead where the rooms are elegant and very comfortable with the "little" things making a huge difference-- the thick bathrobe, the choclates on the pillow, the fresh flowers and beautiful patchwork bed covers and cushions made by Cynthia.
After "the best sleep" in the world we awake to the sounds and smells of the Australian bush interrupted by the smell of breakfast, which is without a doubt the best in the world. Served on the huge verandah overlooking the sparking pool and bush, breakfast can last as long as the conversation which can be hours as John and Cynthia entertain people from all over the world with stories of Australian history and its characters .... mostly true.
The charm and the drawing power of Amamoor Lodge is no doubt the personal touches and attention to detail .. the homemade cookies that are always available to be enjoyed with a cuppa or a glass of port; the camp fires in the "lean to" which is carefully decorated with the tools of the trade of the Australian bush; the optional tours available
and the opportunity to visit with a group of friends and really feel "at home".
John and Cynthia will always "go that extra mile" to make sure you have whatever it is you need to make sure your visit is one you will never forget.

Well---that stick bug was above my door!! Great to see as I teach a unit on insects for kids and this one is the biggest I have ever seen for this insect...in the US they are about 2 cm so the kids will love the picture.
I think being alone on New Year's eve as my spouse was getting experimental cancer treatment was a challenge. This place brought me serenity and peace as well as a connection with nature. Horses, chickens, wild birds and great pool all were treats. Kitchen was well equipped and internet very fast.

Nice wonderful breakfast with a view as I also watched the great insect and visited with others.

Should be 5 star. John and Cynthia make this a home away from home except we don't have to do the cooking or washing-up. Their hospitality is FIRST class. John's steaks are the best I have ever tasted and Cynthia's pavlova is a must. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed with all the facilities you could require. The shower, although water is limited, is like standing under a soft waterfall and very hard to leave.
The serenity of Amamoor Lodge and its location make for the perfect place to unwind and de-stress.

We travelled here after leaving Hamilton Island's tropical paradise and found bush paradise at Amamoor. The accommodation met our needs very well (and we are quite fussy), the hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The location was peaceful and beautiful, the horses, hens, birds and lizards added to the interest and we didn't want to leave.

We were attending a family wedding close to our accommodation at Amamoor Lodge. Some of Amamoor Lodge's buildings are historical and have been renovated to fantastic modern standards with all the latest amenities. The accommodation was immaculately clean and the hosts, John and Cynthia were warm and welcoming hosts. The beds were very comfortable and the room very cosy. We could help ourselves to tea and coffee and Cynthia's homemade goodies. John showed us how he could call the native birds in the morning. Set in the idyllic Australian bush, Amamoor Lodge is a great place to chill out/and or explore what the surrounding district has to offer.

Quite a place to stay if you want to experience the Australian bush, wonderful hospitality and a lifestyle that you only get in Queensland. The hospitality of the hosts makes you feel at home at once! Do not miss the Queensland state forest, one of the best restaurants in Queensland, the Spirit House Cooking School, not far from there, and of course my favorite: Noosa beaches.
