It is Jacaranda time (October and November) and it is easily my favourite time of the year. At Gympie accommodation, Lagoon Pocket Bed and Breakfast we have numerous big old Jacarandas in the grounds that are creating beautiful purple carpets all around the gardens.Jacaranda flowers at Lagoon Pocket Bed and Breakfast

It is a time full of colour. The Bougainvillea is crimson. The  Star Jasmin is white. The Hippeastrums are red. The mock orange not only adds white but their amazing scent floods the garden. Then there the Jacaranda carpet at Lagoon Pocket Bed and Breakfastlavenders and the Brunfelsia (Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow)…..and that is just the flowers!

The Galahs, Pale Headed Rosellas, Kingfishers, King Parrots, assorted wrens, Crested Doves, Rosellas, Corellas, Honey-Eaters are all doing their spring time best to bring flashes of colour, not to mention song to the property.Bougainvillia at Lagoon Pocket Bed and Breakfast

And of course we could not do this page without mentioning “Priny” our resident Peacock. You wake up to Peacock calls, not just Robin the Rooster calls, here at Lagoon Pocket B&B!
